Portrait of Christine

Hello, I’m Christine, the person behind Sweet Pixel Quilts. I began quilting in 2014 and finished my first quilt in 2018. Quilting is the first creative pursuit I’ve found where I really feel I can express myself. It’s served as a wonderful creative outlet to balance my life and passions.

I have a Ph.D. in physics, and I draw much of my inspiration from science, including playing with symmetry and pattern. I also take a very scientific approach to how I pursue quilting. Scientific research involves a lot of trial and error, and I like to bring that openness into my sewing studio.

Though I grew up in Wisconsin, I now live in Tucson, Arizona with my spouse Kyle and two dogs, Ricky and Pixel (the namesake behind Sweet Pixel Quilts). We like to soak up the warmth and sun all year round and train in agility. I also like to (slowly) train and run races, and have completed two marathons and four half marathons, with more in my future.
